I wrote a screenplay based on a novel against the advice of all experts, to learn the spacing, tabs, structure, etc. I think I've done it well and now would like to pursue doing something with it. If I contact the subsidiary-rights department of the book publisher, how much should I expect to pay for buying an option to the rights of the book?
