the drop down list is from the box under messenger/address book tabs not my friends list.
there is a long list of names that arenot on my friends list and i need to delete them.

2. Open this folder: C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Cache
3. Find the file that ends with ".conversationhistory".
