I want to be in a heavy metal band when im older and I was reading some stuff and it said that since only guitar and bass use TABS (Which I CAN read) that the other instruments might not understand what we are talking about. So I was wondering how do I read Bass Guitar Music Sheet. I already have a piece of paper that tells me what each fret note is on every string (Just got to memorize that.)

Q&A: How to get good at guitar.?

Now I know your probably going to say, "Practice!" That's what I do, I try and try, I listen to the CD in my book, and when I get a teacher, the go way to slow and I get bored and quit! So I've been trying to teach myself but I am getting stuck on tabs and in the book I'm stuck on these songs! I don't know what to do and now I feel sick when I play because I get so frustrated! Please give me tips on how to get better. Also, please don't say,

Piano players... Help with bass cleff!?

I figured I would do fine taking up piano lessons since I know the music scale. Until I saw the bass clef. Are there any tips or techniques you guys have to help me hit the right keys on the bass clef since they are different?

Hey guys, it just hit me one day that I wanted to play guitar..well not so sudden but kind of out of the blue. I'm currently 15 years old and have no previous experience with guitar at all. I've played the piano for about 3 years starting in first grade but I don't remember much. Im looking for a teacher in NYC that can help me in learning guitar. I live in Queens but I'll travel to Manhattan if necessary. Also one that is fairly cheap would be good.

I've been a piano and saxophone, so I know how to read standard notation in music, and the notation of rhythms is of course easy there, with the stem markings, but in guitar tableture on sheet music, I can't understand if I'm just supposed to play the full chord or play the lyrical "sung" part. My dad just showed me where you put your fingers and what such.
I can read music because I have played the trumpet for over 4 years, But I don't know how to read tabs. I have been trying to learn the basic cords and get to know the fret board. But it's all so confusing. Any tips? Website? Books?
Everything helps because I really plan on sticking with the guitar,
I don't know the names of the notes.

Do you think I could get decent enough to play piano/keyboards in the band I'm in. Right now I'm rhythm guitarist, but our drummer really wants to play guitar on some songs so I'd jut play piano on those. I had about 3 months lessons at a conservatory, can read music (not well, mostly just read to learn melodies and key signatures, can't really sight read and forget bass clef.
Our style is rock/progressive rock/funk/ anything

Took my favorite "base" chicken pot pie recipe out of my cookbook to get the ingredients at the store. Then, proceded to wash the jeans the recipe was in! It's in the 1996 edition of the Better Homes and Gardens white and red checked cookbook. I can't find anything like it on their site. Any help from anyone would be great!! The recipe is under the poultry tab in the book.

i'm currently teaching myself to play the lap steel guitar (a six string) but i've never played a regular guitar. i already have a musical background (i also play piano) so i'm catching on fairly quickly. i've been searching online for sheet music but i need some help. since i've never played a regular guitar i was wondering, what is the difference between guitar tabs and steel guitar tabs? can i buy
