Bass guitar lessons or self taught?

Question by Manuel L: Bass guitar lessons or self taught?
I am very new to music and recently bought a bass. Obviously i would like to play it well as soon as possible but I am not too sure where to start and was thinking about getting lessons. Just the basics stuff really i am looking forward to playing slap bass but i want to be proficient in everything.
